Q: Can DataDirector import data from any source including our Student Information System
and the STAR CD's?

A: Yes. DataDirector TM can import any data file that is tab or comma delimitated or in a Microsoft Excel file.


Q: How do I get my data into DataDirector?
A: For the first major data cleaning and importing, the Achieve! programmers will import yourdata. Achieve! is currently developing an import tool that will allow for easy imports and updates of virtually any data.


Q: What is involved in getting data from my Student Information System, local assessment results, state assessments, professional development data, human resources data, etc. into the data system?
A: We can import most state assessment data into DataDirector using just a copy of the CD-ROMsent to the district by the state. In order to import other district-specific data (e.g. Student Information System data), we ask that the data be sent to us in a tab-delimited format that includes student ID numbers so that we can properly associate the data to the correct students.


Q: What data can I store in DataDirector?
A: Virtually any data can be stored in the system including: assessment, demographic, program/intervention, professional development, credentialing, and degree information.



Q: How current is the data in DataDirector?
A: The data in the system is as current as you update it. You control how current the data is in the system.


Q: DataDirector is a web-based system, what does that mean?

A: DataDirector is web-based and web accessible therefore, you may view data from any platform computer, Mac or PC, and you can access the data anywhere and at anytime.


Q: What web browsers does DataDirector work with on both Mac and PC?
A: Internet Explorer 5 and up Netscape Navigator 4.75 and up and Safari.


Q: Can I use the system to create my own standards based assessments and exams?
A: DataDirector enables the creation of exams and assesments
